MiDAS ‘Standard’ Driver
This course is designed for those drivers who do not need disability awareness & equipment training.
Theory session to include the following:
- Legal Responsibilities
- Driving Licence information
- 1988 Road Traffic Act
- Vehicle checks and defect sheets
- Passenger Safety
- Seat Belt issues
- Speed Information
- Defensive Driving
- Overview of Health and Safety and Moving and Handling
- Breakdown, Collision and Emergency Procedures
MiDAS ‘Accessible’ Driver
This course is for those drivers who require extra training in disability awareness, wheelchair and user security equipment.
Content as above with additional theory session to include the following:
- Disability Awareness: sensory impairments, physical difficulties, DDA overview
- Wheelchair Handling
- Wheelchair and Passenger security equipment training
- Correct use of lift/and or ramp, and safety advice
- Participants receive a MiDAS Handbook and the nationally recognised and accepted MiDAS Certificate.
THE DRIVER’S ORGANISATION MUST BE A MIDAS MEMBER
MEMBERSHIP OF WHICH IS FREE, FORMS PROVIDED BY US PRIOR TO TRAINING
